Because the State of California's Department of Pharmacy has approved up to 30 HOURS OF CONTINUING EDUCATION for attending this learning experience.  Therefore, you have options. If C.E. is your major objective you can select from one to four sessions of 7.5 C.E. hours per session. If you desire to enhance your business skills it is highly recommended that you attend all four sessions to be held during a two-weekend time period.

Cost of the four-session (30 hours) program is $1,695 for Managed Pharmacy Care members and $2, 295 for non-MPC members. Individual sessions are priced at $495 per 7.5 hours for MPC members and $595 for non-MPC members.

According to independent pharmacy owners who have completed this program (telephone numbers are available for you to confirm) "it was everything that we should have learned in college."

Enrollment is limited and written materials are included for each session. You are responsible for your hotel accommodations, however. Tuition can be arranged in monthly, quarterly or semi-annual payments on your credit card.

Introducing the Pharmacy Business Group

In today's managed care environment, your odds at "survival" are being challenged. It is not dependent upon your pharmacy knowledge but rather the knowledge and experience of operating a successful business

The Pharmacy Business Group was created to blend practical experience and marketing "know how" for the successful independent businessmen. The programs were developed at the request of numerous independent pharmacists who recognize they were trained in the practice of pharmacy - not the practice of business.

The time, money, frustrations and/or worse required to "learn" the business can be reduced or totally eliminated by joining the Pharmacy Business Group.

Ellis Management Consultants, LLC (founded in 1997) and an expert in successfully aiding independent pharmacists throughout the nation, established this program to allow independent pharmacists to compete with the chains in marketing and promotion . . . independent from those companies who you already have a "business" relationship with.

Through quarterly meetings with your peers, conducted by specialists in all areas of business, you will grasp the fundamentals of solid business practices that will transform your pharmacy into an well-organized and profitable business. The quarterly meetings will be held in California and consist of seven hours of training, discussions and instructions.

TOPICS

Insurance: Policies required for the successful independent pharmacist.

Inventory control: Procedures to move product off the shelf at a reasonable profit while eliminating practices that collect dust and cost you money.
